One dead in Lake Worth after hit-and-run

A 69-year-old woman is dead after she was involved in a crash in Lake Worth along with five other drivers, one of which was impaired.

Twenty-six-year-old Raekwon Johnson fled from Atlantis Police in his 2017 Tiguan Volkswagon Wednesday night after police were conducting a traffic stop.

Johnson fled southbound on Congress Avenue, passing through a red light.

While passing through the intersection, Johnson’s car collided with a 2021 Ford Escape.

The crash caused the Escape to spin out of control, rotating 90 degrees to face southbound and impact a Pilot Honda.

Other cars involved in the crash were a 2008 Hyundai Sonata and a 2002 Chevy Avalanche.

After the Infinity was struck by Johnson, it struck three other vehicles, resulting in serious injuries for the driver of the infinity.

The driver of the Ford Escape succumbed to their injuries.

Johnson is charged with fleeing from police and a hit-and-run.
