One dead, two injured in Holmes County crash

On Saturday, Florida Highway Patrol responded to a crash that resulted in one dead and two injured.

Troopers said the incident happened just before 5 a.m. on State Road 2 near Rum Road in Holmes County.

A 21-year-old Bonifay man driving a pickup truck was traveling East on State Road 2 and a 33-year-old man from Bonifay driving an SUV was traveling west on the same road.

The pickup truck crossed the centerline which resulted in his front left bumper striking the front left bumper of the SUV, officials wrote in a news release.

FHP officials said the 33-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene, and his passenger a 25-year-old man faced minor injuries. The driver of the pickup truck also suffered minor injuries.
