One person was found dead after a house fire in Charlotte County early Thursday morning.
Firefighters responded to the reports of the house fire at 1:44 a.m. on Hickory Avenue, north of the intersection of Airport Road and Taylor Road.
Hickory Ave. was blocked off for hours while the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office forensics team was on the scene.
NBC2 spoke with a neighbor who said she thought a bomb went off because the fire “shook her home.”
The State Fire Marshal was also on the scene investigating.
The cause of the fire is still unknown at this time.
