One person hospitalized after house fire in Orange County

One person was hospitalized after a house fire was reported in Orange County Tuesday.

When firefighters arrived at the home on Fitzhugh Road in the Winter Park Pines subdivision, they found flames coming from the house and the backyard.

After searching the house, Orange County firefighters found one victim who was taken to the hospital under a trauma code.

Firefighters have not said what caused the fire, but neighbors nearby say they heard an explosion.

“I asked the neighbor who was out there with their two kids, and she said they were giving them a bath when they came outside and heard an explosion,” said David Price, a neighbor.

The second victim was suffering from smoke inhalation. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
