A man was saved from a sinking boat Saturday near the Florida Keys.

The U.S. Coast Guard patrolling the southeast region of the U.S., including South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, and the Caribbean Sea, responded to the incident.

The boat sank in Barnes Sound, which is around an hour south of Miami.

Only one person was on the boat at the time of the incident.

They were taken to Gilbert’s Marina without any injuries.

The Coast Guard made note that the man was wearing a life jacket and had a water-resistant cell phone.
