On Wednesday, a man was seriously injured in a crash pulling a trailer full of watermelons on I-10 near MM 144 in Jackson County.
According to a news release, the incident happened just after 8 p.m., involving a 59-year-old man from Auburndale, Florida.
Florida Highway Patrol officials said the driver was traveling east on I-10 and was unable to maintain control of the vehicle while towing a large trailer.
As a result, the vehicle traveled off the roadway onto the south grass shoulder. Officials said the driver attempted to steer the vehicle to the left to return to the roadway. While the vehicle was overturning, officials wrote that the trailer being towed detached and also overturned.
No additional information has been released.
