One woman dead after Cross City crash

One woman is dead after a crash in Dixie County Saturday afternoon.

Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) troopers said it happened northeast of Cross City.

The victim, a 28-year-old woman from Old Town, was heading north on US-319.

FHP troopers said her car was hit from behind, pushed into the right shoulder, and turned over.

According to troopers, the woman was ejected from her vehicle as it rolled over.

She was taken to UF Shands in Gainesville where she was pronounced dead.

The other driver was a 27-year-old woman from Cross City, who FHP troopers say hit the victim from behind.

The other driver did not sustain any injuries.
