Orlando man, 18, struck and killed while walking on Volusia Road, Florida Highway Patrol says

An 18-year-old Orlando man was fatally struck by an SUV early Saturday in Volusia County while walking on International Speedway Boulevard, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The crash occurred around 12:52 a.m. along eastbound International Speedway Boulevard, east of Red John Drive, troopers said.

According to an FHP crash report, the man was struck by a 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee that was traveling eastbound in the outside lane. The man was pronounced dead at the scene, the report states.

The SUV’s driver and two passengers — all of whom were identified as 22-year-old DeLand men — were not injured in the crash and remained at the scene, troopers said.

FHP is still investigating.
