2nd driver suffers critical injuries
KISSIMMEE, Fla. – A 37-year-old Orlando man was killed early Tuesday in Osceola County when he was driving the wrong way on Orange Blossom Trail and struck another vehicle head-on, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
The fatal two-vehicle wreck happened around 1:45 a.m. on OBT, east of Parkgate Drive near Kissimmee.
The FHP said the man was driving a 2017 Toyota Camry east in the westbound outside lane of OBT and collided with a 2018 Dodge Challenger. The Camry overturned and landed on its roof, the FHP said.
The Camry driver was pronounced dead at the scene, according to an FHP crash report.
The driver of the Challenger, a 25-year-old Haines City man, was critically injured and taken to Osceola Regional Medical Center, troopers said.
It’s not known why the man was driving in the wrong direction.
Both men were wearing seat belts, the crash report stated.
No other details were released.
