An Orlando police officer was involved in a crash late Tuesday night on John Young Parkway.
The crash happened around 11:10 p.m. near Old Winter Garden Road.
According to Florida Highway Patrol, the officer was responding to an emergency back-up call and entered the intersection on a red traffic left-turn arrow. The other vehicle, a 2024 Chevy Equinox, had a green signal and continued into the intersection, troopers said.
Both drivers tried to avoid a collision but were unable to, FHP said.
The driver of the Chevy Equinox had minor injuries but was not taken to the hospital. The officer was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
An investigation is ongoing.
