Palm Coast Fire Police member seriously injured when struck by vehicle

A Palm Coast Fire Police member was seriously injured Tuesday when they were struck by a vehicle, according to fire officials.

The Palm Coast Fire Department said it responded to a crash around 5 p.m. near Seminole Woods Parkway and Sesame Drive.

Fire Police members arrived to direct traffic away from the area, and one of the members was hit by a car.

“The Fire Police member suffered serious injuries and was declared a trauma alert due to a loss of consciousness,” the fire department said in a Facebook post.

They were airlifted to a nearby hospital, where they remain in critical but stable condition.
