Pedestrian hit and killed by car in Tampa

A pedestrian was hit and killed by a car Wednesday night in Tampa, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

It happened just after 10 p.m. on Nebraska Avenue, north of Fowler Avenue.

FHP says a 28-year-old woman from Tampa was driving a Mercedes with three passengers when the pedestrian, only identified by troopers as an adult man, walked onto the road and into the path of her car.

The man died at the scene.

The driver and her three passengers were not hurt.
