A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle Tuesday morning near Veterans Parkway and Santa Barbara Boulevard, causing delays during the morning commute.
According to the Cape Coral Police Department, a man was hit by a vehicle on Santa Barbara Blvd. just south of Veterans Pkwy. shortly before 7 a.m
The pedestrian’s injuries are currently unknown; however, they are determined to be non-life-threatening.
Police are still determining whether impairment was a factor.
Gulf Coast News reporters on the scene could see a bicycle lodged under the front of the pickup truck after the crash. It’s unclear whether the man was on the bike at the time of the crash.
The crash temporarily shut down two northbound lanes of Santa Barbara Boulevard, causing delays as police and emergency responders worked at the scene. The road has since been cleared.
Police have not released additional details about the pedestrian’s identity or any potential charges related to the crash.
