A pedestrian was struck by a SUV Saturday morning while crossing Pine Island Road near 44th Street in Sunrise, authorities said.
The crash happened around 8:14 a.m. when a SUV heading southbound hit the pedestrian near a Chevron gas station, according to authorities.
Sunrise police said the driver remained at the scene, and the pedestrian was taken to Broward Health Medical Center for treatment. The pedestrian’s condition wasn’t immediately available.
A Local 10 News crew was at the scene as a silver SUV with significant damage to its front left side was towed away from the gas station near the crash site.
Officials have not released the identities of those involved.
Police did not disclose whether the driver would face charges or receive any citations.
No other details were immediately released.
