Pedestrian killed in Greenacres crash

A man was killed Sunday night when he was struck by an SUV as he crossed the street in Greenacres.

The pedestrian was crossing Lake Worth Road in front of the Greenacres Bowling Alley when he reportedly stepped in front of a moving Nissan Rogue.

The crash report stated he was struck after stepping off the median and was knocked into the road. The Nissan came to a controlled stop to await first responders.

Greenacres Fire Rescue pronounced him dead at the scene. Next of kin has not been notified as the pedestrian’s identity is still unknown, according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office.

PBSO suspects he was under the influence at the time of the collision.
