Pedestrian killed on State Road 50 in Bithlo area, says Florida Highway Patrol

Victim was a 34-year-old man from Crossville, Tennessee

The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a crash that killed a pedestrian early Sunday morning in east Orange County. Trooper believe the victim walked into the path of an oncoming vehicle.

The crash happened on East State Road 50 near Exeter Street in the Bithlo area around midnight.

Troopers say a 2017 Ford Escape was heading west on SR 50 when the pedestrian, a 34-year-old man from Crossville, Tennessee, walked into the vehicle’s path. The man was not in a marked crosswalk, troopers say. He died at the crash site. His identity was not released because the next of kin had not been notified yet.

The driver and passengers in the vehicle were not hurt and stayed on scene.
