Pedestrian struck, killed on Alafaya Trail near UCF

A pedestrian was struck and killed early Wednesday on Alafaya Trail near the University of Central Florida, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The crash happened near East Colonial Drive.

According to a crash report, the pedestrian was crossing Alafaya Trail in the path of an oncoming 2023 Cadillac XT4 that was heading north.

The front of the vehicle hit the pedestrian, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

Troopers said the pedestrian, whose name and age have not yet been released, was not in a marked crosswalk.

Sky 6 video showed vehicles being redirected around the crash while the northbound lanes of Alafaya Trail just south of East Colonial Drive were blocked. The lanes have since reopened.
