Pedestrian struck, killed while crossing US-41 in Tampa

A pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle Sunday evening while crossing US-41 in Tampa, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

At 8 p.m., a 35-year-old Tampa man in a Mazda 3 was traveling southbound on US-41.

Just north of 118th Avenue East, a 63-year-old pedestrian crossed the roadway, walking into the path of the Mazda, troopers said.

The vehicle struck the man, who died at the scene of the crash.
