Pensacola man arrested for Chimes Way double-shooting that killed 26-year-old

A 35-year-old Pensacola man was arrested Thursday for this past weekend’s double-shooting in Escambia County that left a 26-year-old man dead.

Walter Baker is charged with:

  • murder
  • attempted murder
  • tampering with evidence
  • weapon possession by convicted felon

Baker is being held in Escambia County Jail without bond.

The shooting took place Sunday around 3 a.m. near a park on Chimes Way.

One man died at the scene, while another was hospitalized with injuries.

The deceased victim is 26-year-old Jaquantis Johnson, family tells WEAR News.
