Person taken to hospital as trauma alert after being hit by a school bus in Boynton Beach

A pedestrian was transported to a trauma center after being hit by a school bus Monday morning in Boynton Beach, according to Fire Rescue.

Palm Beach County Fire Rescue (PBCFR) says they were dispatched to the intersection of Lyons Road and Senator Joe Abruzzo Avenue around 9 a.m. to a vehicle crash.

The scene turned out to be a school bus, with no students on board, colliding with a pedestrian, who was also not a student.

The individual was transported to a trauma center by ground units as a trauma alert, according to PBCFR.

PBSO continues to investigate the crash, and PBCFR is unable to give more information due to HIPAA Laws.
