Plane lands on belly at Pompano Beach Airpark

A small plane landed with its gear up Friday morning at the Pompano Beach Airpark.

Sky 10 was above the airport at 1001 NE 10th St. shortly after 11:30 a.m. as two men were standing outside the aircraft.

According to the Federal Aviation Administration, the incident involving the twin-engine Piper PA-44 occurred around 11:10 a.m.

The FAA confirmed that two people were onboard the plane.

It’s unclear what caused the issue or whether anyone was injured.

The FAA is investigating.

No other details were immediately released.
