The Ocala Police Department is investigating a rollover crash that happened on Friday.
According to police, a car was traveling on NE 8th Avenue when it crashed into mailboxes, a vehicle and two occupied homes.
A woman is displaced after the car crashed into her home.
She says it was badly damaged and is now unsafe.
The exterior is boarded up, the door is boarded up, and there’s a sign on the window letting people know it’s not safe to go inside.
Sumiko was not hurt, but she’s now without a home or a car.
What started out as a normal Friday for Sumiko ended with a car being pulled out of the side of her home in Ocala.
“I was sitting on the sofa watching TV. All I heard was a thump – a loud thump,” Sumiko said. “When I got outside, I see my car connected to another car inside the next building I stay in.”
The car that was hit belonged to Sumiko.
“Out completely of somewhere to stay, out completely of driving my car. It’s a hurtful feeling. I just paid off my car,” Sumiko said.
Police say the driver suffered minor injuries. No one inside either home was injured.
Sumiko says she will live with a relative for the time being.
Police are looking into what caused the crash.
