Police investigate northwest Miami-Dade shooting that left man critical

 Police are investigating a shooting in the Brownsville area of northwest Miami-Dade Thursday.

It happened at around noon near Northwest 26th Avenue and 51st Street, according to police.

The victim, a man, was hospitalized in critical condition.

Nearby Brownsville Middle School was placed on lockdown.

Video from Sky 10 showed one man being placed into a squad car.

Police said they detained two men and are working to find out what led up to the shooting.

They’ve yet to make an arrest as of Thursday evening and said their investigation continued.
