Police search for suspect in shooting near Tampa International Airport

The Tampa Police Department is looking for a suspect in a shooting that happened near the Tampa International Airport.

According to a TPD release, officers responded to a shooting on the sidewalk near North O’Brien Street and West Spruce Street at about noon.

Investigators said it believed that the shooting stemmed from a “heated dispute” between two men. While it did not happen on airport property, Tampa International Airport Police responded to the scene along with TPD officers and helped with traffic control.

The suspect was described “as an adult black male with long dreads, wearing a black beanie, black jacket, and unknown colored pants, who was pulling a roller bag.” He is still at-large.
