Police: Woman injured during Hialeah home shooting

 A 28-year-old woman was shot in the abdomen on Wednesday in Hialeah, police said.

According to the Hialeah Police Department, “an accidental discharge” at a home near the James Silas Walker Community Center, at 800 W 29 St., was to blame.

According to Lt. Eddie Rodriguez, a spokesman for HPD, Miami-Dade Fire Rescue personnel flew a helicopter to Walker Park to rescue the woman.

Detectives asked anyone with information about this or other cases to call Miami-Dade County Crime Stoppers at 305-471-8477.
