TAMPA, Fla. – A devastating two-vehicle crash on East Fowler Avenue in Tampa has claimed the life of a motorcyclist, marking a somber incident that underscores the importance of road safety.

The accident occurred late Sunday night, approximately at 8:45 p.m., when a Dodge Journey and a Yamaha motorcycle collided in a harrowing incident.

As detailed by the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), the Dodge was heading west on East Fowler Avenue, situated to the west of I-75, positioned within the left turn lane. Simultaneously, a Yamaha motorcycle was traveling east on East Fowler Avenue, utilizing the outermost lane.

Tragedy struck as the Dodge initiated a left turn onto the on-ramp for I-75, resulting in a catastrophic collision with the oncoming motorcycle. The motorcyclist, a 26-year-old Tampa resident, suffered fatal injuries in the crash, marking a heartbreaking loss. The driver of the Dodge, a 19-year-old woman hailing from Valrico, fortunately sustained only minor injuries.
