Probable drug-related shooting in Clearwater leaves man critically injured, police say

 A man was left critically injured in what Clearwater police believe to be a drug-related shooting on Saturday night.

The 52-year-old victim was found shot with life-threatening injuries at around 11 p.m. in the 900 block of Vine Avenue in Clearwater.

Police and fire crews said the man was taken to Morton Plant Hospital, before being transferred to St. Joseph’s Hospital in Tampa for treatment.

He remains in critical condition, as of this report.

Preliminary investigation reveals that the shooting was likely drug-related and that the shooter and victim knew each other.
