PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. (CBS12) — A 28-year-old Port St. Lucie woman is accused of battering multiple Dave and Buster’s employees and punching an officer after being asked to leave.
On Thursday, Port St. Lucie Police officers say they responded to Dave and Buster’s on SW Gatlin Blvd. where an employee directed them to an allegedly drunk disorderly woman, later identified as Sarah Works. “She just punched my manager,” the employee shouted at police while pointing.
Officers say they attempted to grab Works’ arm when she swung and struck a police officer with a closed fist in the face.
The responding officer deployed the taser three times, which successfully restrained Works for officers to cuff her and place her in the back of the patrol car, according to the criminal probable cause affidavit.
According to the manager’s witness statement, Works began being aggressive toward her and when she asked her to leave, Works retaliated against her by scratching and shoving her.
Another employee told police he saw her tugging on her boyfriend’s shirt while swinging and slapping his back before walking up and screaming at his manager, prompting him to stand in between the two, which infuriated Works to the point of slapping him and threatening to kill him.
As a result of the victim’s statement and the officer’s interaction with Works, she was booked on five counts of battery and resisting an officer with violence.
