Report: Man pulls gun on Pensacola motel security guard, gets punched in the face

A man was arrested after pulling a gun on an Escambia County motel security guard, according to an arrest report.

Gabriel Roberro, 42, is charged with aggravated assault with a weapon.

The incident happened on Sept. 24 at the Relax Inn on Mobile Highway.

According to the arrest report, the security guard said Roberro was first asked to leave the property on Sept. 23 by the owner. He then returned the next day and sat down in the sitting area.

The report states the security guard approached Roberro and asked him to leave, but Roberro refused.

According to the report, Roberro then stood up, pulled a gun from his waistband and pointed it at the security guard.

Once he put it back in his waistband, the security guard punched Roberro in the face, according to the report. Roberro fell to the ground, which is when the security guard punched him 3-4 more times and took his gun before calling the sheriff’s office.

The report states deputies located Roberro a short time later at the corner of Mobile Highway and Green Street. He told deputies “two black men robbed him and took $300 from him.”

According to the report, deputies watched motel surveillance video, which corroborated the security guard’s story.

Roberro remains in jail on $2,500 bond.
