Residents off C.R. 209 S lose power due to a vehicle hitting a power pole

Residents in Green Cove Springs lost power due to a vehicle striking a power pole Tuesday night.

According to Clay County Fire Rescue officials, a vehicle veered off the road on County Road 209 South near Snake Road and struck a power pole.

Residents in the area were advised to avoid the location due to downed power lines. Both sides of the road were closed to traffic, the Clay County Sheriff’s Office said.

No injuries were reported.

The Clay Electric outage map indicated that approximately 139 customers were without electricity due to the incident.
