A Sebring family of three is dead after the wife fatally shot her husband, their 10-year-old son, and herself, according to the Highlands County Sheriff’s Office.
On Friday afternoon, deputies responded to the double murder-suicide at a home on North Lake Huckleberry Drive in Sebring after a neighbor grew concerned, they hadn’t seen the residents in several days.
Inside the home, officials found the 54-year-old woman, her 63-year-old husband, and their 10-year-old son.
Evidence indicated that the wife shot her family before taking her own life, according to the sheriff’s office.
“Detectives are working to piece together what led up to this tragedy,” Sheriff PB said. “I want to encourage anyone who is struggling with their mental health to please ask for help. You can call 988 to speak to the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline at any time, and there will be someone waiting to assist you.”
Anyone who may have additional information on this case is asked to call 863-402-7200, option 1 or email detectives@highlandsheriff.org.
