A structure fire on Southeast Turtle Creek Drive Tuesday afternoon resulted in significant damage and one person being taken to a hospital, a Martin County Fire Rescue spokesperson said.
Fire rescue officials were called around 4:15 p.m. to a structure fire in the 100 block of Southeast Turtle Creek Drive, said Fire Rescue spokesperson Cory Pippin. The fire was extinguished by a worker at the home prior to fire rescue arriving, and the fire caused significant damage.
When they arrived, firefighters investigated the attic to make sure the fire did not spread. Pippin said it was a possible electrical fire and the State Fire Marshal was notified.
The worker who extinguished the fire had minor smoke inhalation and was transported to Jupiter Medical Center Emergency Room as a precaution, according to Pippin.
