According to Highlands County Fire Rescue (HCFR), at 5:30 p.m., first responders rushed to O’Neal Road in a remote area of Lorida, 35 miles from Okeechobee, after receiving reports of a plane crash.

When they arrived, they found six people, all awake and alert. Three people were injured, two passengers and the pilot. The two passengers were taken to local hospitals for treatment, while the pilot was rushed to a landing zone along Blessings Avenue where he was airlifted to a regional trauma center.
