Six sent to hospital after multi-vehicle crash on I-75 in Marion County

Six people were taken to the hospital after a multi-vehicle crash along I-75 in Ocala.

Authorities asked drivers to avoid Interstate 75 in Marion County after multiple vehicles collided Wednesday evening.

They say that two people got traumatic injuries. One of those two people is a minor, although Ocala Fire Rescue officials didn’t say how old they were.

Ocala Fire Rescue crews responded to the crash in the 5 o’clock hour at Mile Marker 351 on I-75 North, south of the Silver Springs Boulevard exit.

As of 6 p.m., at least two lanes were blocked on the interstate northbound.

The lanes have since been reopened.
