A small helicopter crashed in the backyard of a Seminole County residence Friday afternoon, according to authorities.
The Seminole County Fire Department said the helicopter came down shortly after 5:30 p.m. during an “unplanned landing.” The helicopter was found on its side in the backyard of a home located off of Galant Fox Way in Chuluota.
According to first responders, no structures were hit or damaged. The pilot was the only person on board the aircraft. Officials said the pilot was able to get out of the aircraft safely and was uninjured.
The incident was turned over to the Federal Aviation Administration for further investigation. No further information was immediately provided.
