Smoke pours from car along I-75 near Alico Road exit

Smoke was pouring from a car along the shoulder of Southbound I-75 on Wednesday morning.

According to the San Carlos Fire Protection and Rescue Service District, they responded to the scene with Estero Fire Rescue. Both crews were dispatched as part of their closest response agreement.

Firefighters worked on the busy roadway while the Florida Highway Patrol and the Lee County Sheriff’s Office worked to block traffic.

No injuries were reported. Several lanes of I-75 at MM 126 remain closed.
