South Beach man on house arrest accused of child abuse.

A woman flagged down a police officer after her live-in boyfriend pushed their one-year-old daughter to the floor and threatened to slam her head onto the ground on Monday in Miami Beach.

The police officer stopped at a two-story apartment building along Meridian Avenue in South Beach, and met Bagethy James Bonnet in one of the units, according to the police arrest report.

Bonnet, 38, didn’t admit he had a history of domestic violence, or that he had hurt his daughter, but the girl’s mother recorded a video of the abuse and showed it to police officers, according to a police report.

Bonnet, who was wearing an ankle monitor and was on house arrest for another case, did admit to drinking Grey Goose Vodka, and also to consuming alcohol every day, according to the police officer.

The girl’s mother also warned them that Bonnet kept a gun in their apartment, so police officers decided to keep the gun in evidence for safekeeping, according to the report.

Bonnet remained at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center on Tuesday facing charges for the domestic violence case and seven warrant cases.

Bonnet was facing charges of child abuse and assault. The warrant cases were for assault on a police officer, resisting an officer, trespassing, disorderly intoxication, and knowingly driving without a license.
