A man was arrested on Tuesday after allegedly leading troopers on a chase before crashing his car, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
An FHP arrest report said around 12:55 a.m., troopers spotted a black Infinity G37 Coupe running a red light on Grand Boulevard.
Troopers tailed the vehicle as it made a left on Elkhorn Boulevard and then turned onto Woodcock Drive.
Once they turned on their lights, troopers said the Infinity accelerated. According to FHP, they pursued the vehicle for five to six minutes, during which the vehicle reached over 100 miles per hour.
After running a stop sign on Wiggins Drive and Trouble Creek Road, the vehicle hit a bump in the road on Mary Ann Drive causing the driver to lose control and veer off the road, hitting a guardrail and a wooden power pole.
The driver of the vehicle, T MM, 32, was injured in the crash and, after being placed under arrest, was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
FHP said they searched the vehicle and located a small bag of white powder in the floorboards and a green leafy substance near the gas pedal.
Troopers also located a small rolling tray on the floor of the passenger side.
According to FHP, after testing the drugs they were determined to be cocaine and THC/CBD.
FHP said that M also had several active suspensions on his record.
