Stolen car with 7 people inside leads Polk deputies, troopers in cross-county chase

A car chase in multiple counties with seven people inside crashed in Orlando, the Polk County Sheriff’s Office announced.

Deputies said after 1 a.m. Thursday, they received information about a stolen grey Mitsubishi from the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office that was in the area of Ronald Reagan Parkway and Champions Gate Boulevard.

PCSO deputies, helicopter, and FHP assisted with pursuing the Mitsubishi.

At 1:29 a.m., FHP became the lead vehicle in the chase as the car went back into Osceola County before going into Orange County.

According to PCSO, the car eventually crashed in Orange County on Lee Road at 1:39 a.m.

Seven people were inside the vehicle when it crashed. The 18-year-old driver and another occupant were charged.

The other six people in the car were all from Orlando and ages ranged from 13 to 17.
