Student arrested after ‘major’ fight involving student-athletes breaks out at high school football game

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A student was arrested Thursday after a “major” fight broke out toward the end of a high school football game.

Duval County Public Schools said it is investigating the fight that happened at the Andrew Jackson and First Coast High School football game.

The school district told News4JAX that student-athletes were involved.

A student who did not attend Andrew Jackson or First Coast was arrested. DCPS did not say what the student was arrested for or what caused the fight.

“We have higher expectations for our students, particularly our student-athletes, and appropriate school discipline is being implemented,” a DCPS spokesperson said in a statement.

The Duval County School Police Department and DCPS are investigating.
