Suspect accused of attacking victim with ‘saw-like tool’, ceramic pottery in North Fort Myers

Lee County deputies arrested a man accused of using a “saw-like tool” and a piece of ceramic pottery as a weapon following an altercation in North Fort Myers.

R R A, 61, is facing one charge of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon after deputies arrested him on South Center Drive on Tuesday.

Deputies said they responded to South Center Dr. for reports of a disturbance between two men.

LCSO learned the men were involved in an argument regarding wrong way driving.

According to the report, R A began swinging a “saw-like tool” toward the victim, eventually striking him.

R A reportedly used a piece of ceramic pottery as a weapon during the altercation as well.

Deputies said the victim sustained non-life threatening injuries.

“If you commit violent crime of any kind, I promise my deputies WILL arrest you and take you to jail! We have law and order in Lee County ,” stated Sheriff M. “Our residents deserve to feel safe in their own communities!”
