SUV crashes into Naples restaurant’s window; no injuries

A popular Naples restaurant is cleaning up after an SUV partially crashed into it, but luckily, nobody was hurt.

Naples Fire Rescue crews and police responded to the scene on Friday morning after 9 at Pastrami Dan’s located at 586 Tamiami Trail North.

The owner’s wife was the first to arrive on the scene. They said all they know is a woman in her 60s was at the wheel.

Rescue crews provided an image of the red SUV partially inside a window and confirmed there were no injuries.

Dan Costaregni owns Pastrami Dan’s, which has been around for 49 years.

“That’s the first time something like this this major has ever happened,” he said. “We had a door in the back get hit and one window got cracked, but this is major.”

He plans on reopening Tuesday, but for now, they are closed.

“The main thing is nobody got hurt,” Costaregni said. “We can get back open. I’m not worried about the money or anything like that. The business right now. They can wait two days to get their sandwich.”
