The Tampa Police Department launched an investigation Thursday night following a deadly crash on West Waters Avenue.
Officers said they responded to the scene shortly after 9 p.m. and found a man suffering from severe injuries.
First responders performed lifesaving measures, and the man was taken to a hospital, but he ultimately succumbed to his injuries.
The man’s identity has not been released, and police said Thursday the cause of the crash was still under investigation.
The area of West Waters Avenue between North Dakota Avenue and North Orleans Avenue was closed while officers investigated. The road has since reopened.
