Tampa man killed after being hit by van in Pinellas County, FHP says

A 66-year-old man from Tampa was killed after he was hit by a van Monday night in Pinellas County.

The incident happened around 6:40 p.m., Florida Highway Patrol said in a news release. A 61-year-old man from Tennessee was reportedly driving the van north on County Road 611 before the Tampa man attempted to cross the road north of 58th Avenue.

The 66-year-old entered the van’s path before he was hit, troopers said. He later died from his injuries at the hospital.
