Teen driver crashes into wall, damages mobile homes in Pembroke Park

A 17-year-old unlicensed driver crashed into a concrete wall and caused damage to nearby mobile homes in Pembroke Park early Sunday morning, authorities confirmed.

Pembroke Park police said officers responded to the scene at near the 5000 block of Hallandale Beach Boulevard around 6:15 a.m.

Investigators said the teenager, traveling eastbound in the 5200 block of Hallandale Beach Boulevard, reported blacking out before the vehicle veered into westbound lanes and collided with the Dale Village community’s concrete wall.

According to investigators, the crash destroyed about 20 feet of the wall and sent debris flying into nearby mobile homes, causing additional property damage.

The driver sustained a minor hand injury but declined treatment from fire rescue personnel, authorities said.

Detectives said they found no evidence of impairment, ruling out alcohol or narcotics as factors.

Criminal citations were issued, and police confirmed that the driver’s parents were also notified.

Authorities said Florida Power & Light was also contacted to repair a damaged utility pole that was damaged in the crash.

No other details about the incident were immediately released.
