BOYNTON BEACH, Fla. (CBS12) — A crash on South Military Trail in Boynton Beach on Friday claimed the life of a 19-year-old man after he lost control of his car.
The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office (PBSO) crash report states that at around 6:55 p.m. on Friday, the teen driver was speeding northbound on South Military Trail when he lost control of his car near the 7882 block.
The report noted that as he skidded out of control, the teen veered into the southbound lanes, directly into the path of a Hyundai traveling in the opposite direction.
The two vehicles collided, with the front driver’s side of the teen’s car striking the front driver’s side of the Hyundai, officials said.
The driver of the Hyundai and a passenger were taken to Delray Medical Center, but their injuries were reported as minor.
The report states that the 19-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene due to injuries sustained in the crash.
