LAKEWOOD RANCH, Fla. (WFLA) — An 18-year-old man riding a motorcycle was killed in a Manatee County intersection overnight, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
At 1:30 a.m., the teen was traveling east on University Parkway, approaching the intersection of North Cattlemen Road.
At the same time, a 35-year-old driver in a truck, along with his 42-year-old passenger, was traveling north on North Cattlemen Road, preparing to make a left turn onto University Parkway.
FHP said as the driver of the truck went to make the turn, the motorcyclist entered the intersection and crashed the front of his bike into the left side of the truck.
The teen motorcyclist died at the scene of the crash. The men in the truck were not injured.
FHP is continuing to investigate the crash.
