A 19-year-old was killed in a Palm Harbor intersection on Thursday evening after slamming into another vehicle, the Florida Highway Patrol reported.
At 7:40 p.m., the teen, from Holiday, was traveling northbound on US-19 on a Honda CBR sportbike.
At the same time, an 85-year-old Palm Harbor man driving a Chrysler Pacifica was traveling southbound on US-19.
FHP said that at the intersection of Highlands Boulevard, the 85-year-old man went to make a left turn as the motorcycle traveled through the intersection, causing the teen to strike the van.
The motorcyclist was taken to a nearby hospital, where he later died from his injuries. The other driver suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
