A man has been arrested in connection to the deadly stabbing of a teenage boy in Tampa on Sunday.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) said 24-year-old Michael Aldana is accused of stabbing and killing Arnold Gutierrez after a fight.
“Our hearts go out to the family of the young man whose life was ended in this senseless act of violence,” said Sheriff Chad Chronister. “Thanks to our detectives’ hard work and dedication, the suspect is in custody. We are committed to ensuring that those who choose violence are held accountable.”
Just after 2:15 a.m. on November 3, dispatch received multiple calls reporting a stabbing at North green at Carrollwood Apartments. At the scene, deputies said they found Arnold Gutierrez with stab wounds. He was rushed to St. Joseph’s Hospital, but he later died from his injuries.
During the investigation,detectives learned that Aldana and Gutierrez had gotten into a verbal argument that escalated into a physical fight leading toAldana allegedly stabbing Gutierrez multiple times.
HCSO said Aldana was arrested and booked into the Orient Road Jail for first-degree murder with a weapon.
