A 33-year-old man was killed early Wednesday morning in a crash at the Altra Drive exit from I-295 north, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
The crash, which was reported just before 4 a.m., blocked the exit ramp, which remained closed at 8 a.m. Wednesday during rush hour.
Troopers said the man took the exit ramp for Alta Drive but lost control of his car and hit a tree.
He died at the scene. FHP said he was not wearing a seat belt.
Drivers are asked to take an alternate route until the Alta Drive exit ramp reopens.
